Your Images are an Island. At Isola, we believe your creative assets are your business, not ours. Unlike traditional background removers that send your files to cloud servers, Isola processes everything locally in your browser. Your images never leave your device.
The Isola Privacy Promise
We do things differently:
- 100% On-Device: Isola's AI engine lives in your browser, not on our servers. When you "upload" an image, it never actually leaves your computer.
- No Tracking, No Training: We don't use your photos to "train" our models. Your work stays yours.
- Zero Logs: We don't see what you edit, and we don't want to.
Image Processing
Your images never leave your device. All background removal processing happens directly in your web browser using AI technology (Transformers.js with the RMBG-1.4 model). We do not upload, store, or have access to any images you process.
Data We Collect
We collect minimal data:
- Email addresses — Only if you voluntarily sign up for our Isola Stacks waitlist. Used solely to notify you about product updates and launch information.
- Usage analytics — Anonymous, aggregated data about site visits to improve our service.
Local Storage
We use browser Local Storage for:
- AI Model Cache: The ~45MB AI model is cached in your browser for faster subsequent use.
- Email Signup: If you sign up for our waitlist, your email is stored locally until transmitted.
- Preferences: Any tool preferences you set are stored locally on your device.
Cookies
We use cookies for:
- Advertising: Google AdSense may use cookies to serve relevant ads. You can opt out at Google Ad Settings.
- Analytics: To understand how visitors use our site (anonymous, aggregated data only).
Third-Party Services

Since images are processed locally on your device, there is no risk of your images being intercepted or stored on our servers. This makes Isola ideal for:
